what’s cooking | salad nicoise

I have waxed poetics about Julia Child on here a number of times. I grew up watching Julia cook her way through a kitchen on tv.  And I laugh from the gut every single time I see Dan Aykroyd play the French Chef on SNL. A few years ago I read My Life In France and that made me love her that much more.

Little did I know the Niçoise Salad(s) I consumed during my first trip to France was a regular in her kitchen. It has now become a staple in my own. When I don’t know what to make or feel like cooking, I make a Niçoise Salad. I would love to make this salad in that kitchen. Although it isn’t Julia Child’s kitchen (hers is in the Smithsonian) the French doors and the copper cookware feel like it could be her own.

I Love Julia! I grew up without cable so we would always watch her on PBS. I make Niçoise salad ALL the time too – it’s so good and so easy!
