If there would be one place I could pick up and move in without changing a single thing, it just might be the home of Ochre owners, Harriet Maxwell Macdonald and Andrew Corrie. It’s a perfect blend of old and new, warm and cool, light and dark, feminine & masculine, modern and traditional and has so much natural light. I could keep up the compare and contrasts but I’ll stop with that. It doesn’t hurt that the loft is smack in the middle of the SoHo neighborhood in NYC either. And, the chandelier, it alone has me envious. Along with the perfectly proportioned heavy tufted sofa paired next to the skeletal Hans Wegner Wishbone Chairs. Did I mention 3 children also live here? It’s true, I read the entire article, although I’m not sure where they hide everything (and everyone). It’s not that the house doesn’t look kid friendly, I just don’t see a kid related thing, not even a solitary crayon drawing. Someone runs a tight ship.

Since both Macdonald and Corrie are from London now living in Manhattan, a mix from across the pond seemed fitting for their New York apartment. While I’m dreaming of moving in, I might as well tell you I would play this mix while cooking up a big feast in that amazing kitchen. (I love that the shelves are open for easy access). I think this couple actually uses their kitchen, which I like. It bugs me when people have these elaborate and expensive kitchens that never get used. But again, that’s speculation. Enjoy the mix, it’s definitely a blend of old and new. Kinda like the home.
