projects | cherry crate side table

Let me preface this post with, this isn’t really a project. Not in the true sense. I bought the cherry crate, for $15. I put it beside my sofa for lack of something else. I took photos. Done. I need to clean it up, but I haven’t had time for that. I don’t know how you people work full time, blog and do amazing side projects. Then those of you who have babies and families. My head just exploded thinking about it. Something had to give. This time, it happens to be what I categorize as a project. Let’s italicize project. It’s really more a purchase, with the potential of being a project.

Here’s what makes it a project. I really needed an end table beside my sofa and this spot is awkward. As in tight and a good amount of foot traffic, it’s the path that goes to the bedroom and the bathroom. A normal sized table won’t fit and I would spend from here to eternity looking for the perfect side table. I’m that patient. But I needed something, and this crate happens to work, really well. It’s actually the perfect size and it holds stuff. Always a bonus. Anything larger and said table would be in the way. Anything smaller and drinks can’t be rested on top. So here it is. My latest project.

What a great solution to that space problem. You’ve got so many great textures in your living room, and that box/sidetable looks like it’s been there all along.

I love your house evolvement posts.

Hi Elyse, the blanket is an antique and was a gift. It’s an old Pendleton from the 50′s/60′s I think. A search on ebay might get you some good results.
