projects | a new chair

It’s been a little while since I’ve posted a house update. Not much has changed except I moved the blue velvet chair back to it’s original spot. Aside from the sofa, it’s the only other comfortable chair in the house to watch TV and movies and the location above is more a conversation location, not TV viewing. Since I moved the chair back, the books always felt empty. I pictured a buttery leather club chair, something to balance the navy velvet, but they are either very expensive or few and far between.

Then last weekend I found this mint green Barcelona inspired chair. It was dirt cheap, cheaper than my brass lamp and is covered in mint green vinyl. Maybe that’s why? It has some potential but that’s about it at the moment. Potential. This chair up close is a mess. Melted vinyl spots and missing buttons from the tufted back but I think it will be a somewhat simple reupholstery job. I’m thinking of a saddle tan leather with a navy and white stripe fabric back. But that’s as far as I’ve made it. Until next time, have a great weekend folks.

Love it! I think it looks great in these photos and love the color… but your plans of tan leather and navy and white stripes sound perfect. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

I really like the mint color, especially with the dark legs and the other pieces you’ve got in there… but I’m also intrigued as to what you’ll recover it with! Nice find.

The color is ok for now, but the vinyl itself is in pretty rough shape.

I think it looks great– the color included. Anything re-done would just be a bonus. The wood frame is to die for. I’ll bet you were ecstatic when you found it.
Congrats, your living room (as always) looks so great.
