I am officially in vacation mode. No more bah humbug for me. I’m with family, there’s snow on the ground and a roaring fire in the fireplace. I’m even planning to make my family’s traditional holiday breakfast of biscuits and gravy. How very Southern, I realize. Most importantly, all my shopping is finished and I can fully take pleasure in all that the holidays bring.
Last year Jevan and I tried a new way of gift giving. One of my favorite things about the holidays is finding the perfect gift for someone. I always want it to be something meaningful, something they will love and likely never buy for themselves. I could never quite articulate it until Emily came along and introduced me to 4 gifts.
Something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read.
You can get creative with the categories and it works with just about any budget, which I love. So, do you have any holiday traditions?
WANT: Pendleton Blanket: Glacier National Park Blanket. NEED: Woodlands Supply: Chunky Knit Hat. $15. Men don’t have many accessories, this one is perfect for winter warmth. WEAR: Portland General Store: Whiskey No. 006. $68. All the scents are rich and earthy but this is by far my favorite. If you can’t decide, try the sampler mix. READ: Keith Richards: Life. $30. Rock isn’t dead, yet.
WANT: Rachel Comey: Nash Boot. $410. There is no point in posting these boots but if $400 were to magically appear in my bag, I would buy these. In a heartbeat and wear them every. single. day. NEED: Vic Firth: Cocktail Muddler. $15. for perfecting my cocktails, of course. WEAR: Petite Arrow Necklace: $28. READ: Handcrafted Modern: At Home with Midcentury Designers. Joslyn introduced me to this book a few weeks back. I can’t get it out of my head. It looks rustic and modern and my kind of perfect.

What a great idea! Definitely makes shopping a little easier!
badass picks, for sure. i love that arrow necklace!
That Keith Richards book is totally on my “to-read” list.
